How to Upload Your Music to Yandex Music

There are two ways to get your music onto the Yandex Music platform.

Method 1: Through a Music Distributor

What is a distributor?
A distributor acts as an intermediary between an artist and music platforms. They help place your track on streaming services (including Yandex Music) and handle monetization matters. With their help, you can release your track across all digital platforms.

Before sending your track to a distributor, make sure to:

  • Prepare an audio file in WAV or FLAC format.
  • Check sound quality (recommended bitrate: 320 kbps or higher).
  • Fill in metadata (title, artist, album, release year).
  • Prepare cover art that meets the platform’s requirements.
  • Provide information about the songwriters/composers.

Working with a distributor is a professional approach to music distribution. It ensures legal access to the Yandex Music audience. If you prepare your release correctly and follow all requirements, you’ll be able to successfully present your tracks on one of Russia’s largest music platforms.

Method 2: Direct Upload via Yandex Music

Yandex Music allows users to upload their own music for personal listening only. Please note that uploaded tracks are visible only to you — they cannot be shared with other users.

Uploading via Computer (Web Version)

  1. Go to music.yandex.ru.
  2. Log in to your account.
  3. Navigate to the «My Music» section.
  4. Create a new playlist or select an existing one.
  5. Click the upload button and select your files.

Uploading via Mobile Device

  1. Open the Yandex Music app.
  2. Log in to your account.
  3. Go to the «My Music» section.
  4. Select «Tracks from Device».

iOS Limitations

  • Currently, track upload is not available on iOS.
  • You can only listen to previously uploaded tracks.
  • Uploaded tracks cannot be shared with other users.
  • All tracks are synchronized across devices.

Important notes:

  • You must have the rights to use the music you upload.
  • The supported file format is MP3.
  • Maximum file size per track: 200 MB.
  • Total limit: up to 10 000 tracks per account.
  • Uploaded tracks are for personal use only — you cannot share them with other users.
